Tips for Choosing Good Goal Setting Software

What features should you look for when choosing a goal setting software?

Before you choose, read the tips below to help you make a better decision.

Most programs come with many different features including: easy creation of goals, ways to monitor your goal process, ways to modify your goals, and even reminders that will keep you on track towards your goal.

Some also offers schedules, to-do lists, project management, and much more. Some software programs even have multimedia features such as subliminal messages, visualization techniques, and mind mapping.

But what exactly should you look for in a good goal setting program?

Here are a few things…

Reminders & Prioritization Features

Choose a software which has features that allow you to map out the steps and prioritize your steps to achieve your goals.

Visual Progress

Choose programs that let you create reports, graphs, and diagrams that show your progress.

These visual progress indicators are great motivators. In addition, you can make working with your goals part of your daily or weekly routine.

Reminders

Next, choose a software that has built in features that prompt you to keep up to date with your tasks. This is key to achieving your goals.

Tutorial and Help Features

Ensure that there are tutorials to lead you through the process every step of the way. If you have a question there should be a “help” feature to find the answer and move on.

Search for One that Suits YOU

You should try out different software to see which programs meet the criteria above.

But you may end up spending a lot of time choosing good software. So what I’ve done is that I’ve narrowed down hundreds of goal setting software out there and included only 2 goal setting software that meet the criteria I mentioned above.

#1 GoalsOnTrack Very neat and has a decent yearly cost ($48 per year – the price of a personal planner). It allows you to set and organize your goals, create a neat plan of action and reminds you to follow through on your plan. Simple and effective, exactly what I like. But some of you may not like "simple" software, so another option is...

#2 Affirmware For those wanting more, a good alternative is Affirmware. It has a more comprehensive guide for setting your goals.

It also has something extra – the affirmation program and a 12 day action plan that takes you step by step to make powerful, positive changes.

It really depends on which type of software you like.

Do you like to keep your goals program simple? Then go for GoalsOnTrack

If you want something extra, I recommend Affirmware because it has better training programs than GoalsOnTrack.
