Welcome to my world!

Following college I was on a secretarial/administration career path. I was good at what I did. As I rose through the ranks of a busy academic environment I loved the buzz of the constant workflow, the challenges and opportunities. I was multi-tasking before multi-tasking was a popular word!

Then something happened. I met a man, fell in love and married him. I moved to his part of the world and set up a home. I was completely out of my depth. I could manage an office with my eyes closed, but I had no idea how to manage a home! Two babies, a house move, a freelance business and a house move later I knew things had to change.

To say that things fell between the cracks would be an understatement. For months I was at the hospital almost every day for either myself or my eldest son who was born with some medical issues. One of my problems was chronic fatigue and for a while I have to say I more or less gave up even trying.

Then I started to fight back.

It’s taken me some time to get there, and although things still aren’t quite the way I want them to be, I’m finally winning.

Along the way I’ve learned some tips to help get my life and home back under control. For example, I wish I’d known earlier what a difference you can make in your life using something as simple as a 5-minute kitchen timer.

The most important thing I’ve learned through my personal experience is that “perfect home” is an unrealistic impossible goal to achieve but that having an organized home is well within my capabilities.

I can guarantee that information I share with others struggling to create order from chaos is tried by someone who has really put it to the test and found it to work!

A life learner, I’m a firm believer in self development and try to keep up-to-date with new productivity ideas, try these out and pass on what I think works to other people who are also multi-tasking their way through life.

What I’d like to share here is that you can’t add hours to the day, but by using simple organizational strategies you can stretch the hours you have further.
