About Susan L.

Susan is a freelance writer and indexer living in the wilds of Oregon, just 20 miles from Portland. Before she gave up commuting, she worked as a journalist, teacher, child welfare worker, and computer systems analyst. Now she works at her home in the country and will never go back to the cube farm.Susan has degrees in Computer Science, Education, Spiritual Traditions and Ethics, and Publishing and Technical Writing. Either she can't make up her mind, or she's a generalist of the highest order. She thinks the latter.

As a person with a tendency to take on too much, she has found that time management is a necessity.

Her motto is "Plan your work. Work your plan. Know that something is going to go wrong. Then what are you going to do?"

She allows herself lots of wiggle room for naps, walking the dog, riding her scooter, sudden invitations, and kids who never let her know anything in advance. Somehow she manages to get it all done. She has a motley assortment of grown kids, grandkids, and animals, and is a fiber artist when she has nothing more pressing to do.

She has no plans to retire. Ever.
