Overcoming Procrastination by Getting Rid of the Fear of Failure

Getting rid of the fear of failure will allow you to start overcoming procrastination. Have you kept putting off your tasks? The fear of failure might be overwhelming you.

Let’s take a quick look 2 of the most successful people in the world:

Albert Einstein- One of the most intelligent scientists in this world

Walt Disney- He created one of the world’s most recognized and popular brands. From Mickey Mouse to Snow White to Disneyland, almost every kid loves Walt Disney’s characters and theme parks.

These wildly successful people were wildly successful in their own fields. But life wasn’t a smooth ride for them. Did you know Albert Einstein, the smartest man in the world, did badly in elementary school, and he even failed his first college entrance exam? Walt Disney, on the other hand, suffered multiple business failures and even had to file for bankruptcy in his business life!

If these successful people had feared failure, they wouldn’t even have achieved success.

Many people procrastinate because of the fear of failure, and they allow it to negatively affect their career and success in life.

Do you want to know how to take control of your fear and start overcoming procrastination?

You’re going to find out what it takes to overcome the fear of failure.

How to Deal with Fear of Failure and Begin Overcoming Procrastination

“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed” - Theodore Roosevelt

Win Small Battles
When was the last time you wanted to get moving but had ‘1 more step’ before you could jump straight into it? That’s the fear of failure. You don’t have to get it perfect, in fact, getting it wrong the first time makes it clearer for you to take the right actions in the future.

Keep Anthony Robbins’ words in mind- “Do what you fear, and the death of fear is certain.”

If you don’t start with the small battles, you will lose the war. Start losing as many battles as possible, until you find winning battles easy. Eventually you will find winning small battles so easily that you eventually will win the war!

Use This ONE Simple Technique And Turn Fear into Motivation
This is a creative technique to get rid of fear.

Here’s a lesson from salespeople on how to overcome fear- Salespeople experience fear very often. They have to overcome call reluctance caused by fear, and this is a major reason why underperforming salespeople procrastinate and don’t make any sales!

Cold calling for salespeople can be a difficult task, especially when they are going to get rejected so often by prospects. However, top business and sales speaker Brian Tracy recommends using a simple reward structure which will make it easy to overcome call reluctance.

The technique he mentions is that after salespeople set their sales target, they then can get a cup of coffee. And that particular salesperson can only take a sip each time he makes one call. This is a great motivator as the salesperson has to make as many calls as possible before his coffee gets cold!

So how can YOU use this technique to turn fear into motivation?

Step 1: Identify the goal that you have been putting off all too often.

Step 2: Then determine a reward that you want. Maybe you wouldn’t want to miss your favorite TV program, and then make this the reward. BEFORE you can watch that favorite episode of yours, make it a must to handle your most difficult task that you have been putting off because of fear of failure.

Step 3: Make a commitment. This is a commitment you have to make, but with a reward in sight, you will turn your fear into motivation.

The more you deal with your fear, the more the death of fear will almost be certain. Think about Einstein and Walt Disney, they didn’t fear failure, but failed and responded positively to their failure.

Do the same, and you will start overcoming procrastination.
